Department: Production & Mechanical Maintenance
Reports To: Facility Manager
As a Plant Operator at the Wissington CO₂ Plant, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the production site. You will oversee plant operations and perform mechanical maintenance to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality production within all environmental, safety, and cost parameters.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in line with company and legal standards.
Monitor and adjust operating parameters to maintain optimal production rates and efficiency.
Respond quickly to alarms or process upsets, resolving issues safely and efficiently.
Oversee contractors on-site, including issuing work permits and providing induction training.
Perform routine operational tasks and quality checks.
Ensure maintenance work is properly risk-assessed and executed safely.
Take primary responsibility for routine maintenance and repair of process equipment, supporting contractors as required.
Contribute to mechanical operations in alignment with budget, schedule, and purchasing processes.
Develop and oversee the mechanical maintenance program, including pressure equipment.
Coordinate daily tasks for the mechanical department.
Supervise and evaluate subcontractor technical services.
Manage spare parts for the department.
Identify technical anomalies and propose preventive actions to improve reliability and product quality.
Participate in mechanical standby/guard duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
Completion of relevant technical training and authorizations.
Solid understanding of AL techniques.
Trained in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to CO₂ operations.
Food Safety and HACCP awareness training.
Strong problem-solving, technical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
