Job Opportunity: Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse - Children\'s Medical Ward D33
We are seeking an experienced paediatric nurse to join the senior nursing team on a friendly and supportive ward. You should be motivated, enthusiastic and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a challenging ward environment. You will gain experience working with children of all ages with respiratory, gastro and cardiac conditions, complex needs, some with non-invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen, and long-term conditions such as cystic fibrosis and eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, with exceptional organisational and clinical skills. You will coordinate patient care on the ward, deputise for and support the Ward Manager, and ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
In collaboration with the wider MDT you will identify challenges affecting care quality, develop action plans to address gaps, and evaluate patient pathways and experiences for satisfaction and effectiveness. You will support clinical audits and continuous improvements in line with Trust requirements, and act as a key point of contact for patients, visitors, relatives, and staff.
You will assist with staff rostering to ensure safe and appropriate staffing levels at all times, and provide leadership and management support to the Ward Sister and team to ensure the ward runs smoothly on a daily basis. This role is essential to the ward\'s safe and effective operation, including direct patient care and emotional support.
