VSA have an exciting opportunity available to join our Crosby House Service as a Support/Care Worker based in Aberdeen. This will be a permanent position and in return, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits.
Role details
Hours: 32 hours per week available
Rota: 7 days a week rota where you will be required to work a variety of shifts including early/evening and every 2nd weekend.
Salary: £12.81 per hour

Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with individuals according to agreed standards and procedures, access and update records in keeping with guidelines.
* Help provide a safe and protective environment by complying with health, safety, and security procedures, including medication, and report accidents/incidents when appropriate.
* Support service users in daily living according to their recognised and agreed needs, provide personal care where necessary, adhere to practices which promote wellbeing, choice, and treat people with dignity and respect.
* Assist service users in developing and maintaining social networks and relationships.
* Assist and encourage service users to develop skills and knowledge to live as independently as possible, with reference to the risk assessment process.
* Participate in the development, implementation and review of personal plans with service users.
* Support service users appropriately when they experience a significant life change or loss.
* Develop knowledge and practice continuously through participation in training and development activities.
* Carry out any other tasks from time to time, provided they are reasonable and within the postholder’s capabilities.
* Have awareness and work within internal control systems to facilitate improvement in the quality of service provided.
Qualifications
Applicants need to be fully experienced with UK procedures in Support Work within a residential setting. Dementia awareness training preferable. You must be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 (equivalent SVQ2) in Social Services and Healthcare if you do not already hold one.
