Overview
Interim Shopper Marketing Manager role for Unilever, Kingston upon Thames, England, United Kingdom. 12-month temporary contract, 36.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Competitive compensation up to £65,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience. Role offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to business requirements.
The core purpose of this role is to lead the execution strategy, planning and evaluation of impactful shopper marketing campaigns with our retailers. You will deliver a clear retailer-facing shopper activation plan linked to the BU strategy and the overall media plan, working closely with BU shopper leads and customer account teams to drive impact and competitive growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver an insight-led retailer execution plan that builds Unilever brands in the retailer environment and influences shoppers at the point of purchase.
* Develop strong relationships with retailers, agency partners, account teams and BU shopper/brand partners; prioritise efforts to meet project deliverables in an agile environment.
* Demonstrate team leadership by managing Retail Execution executives and contributing to the Retail Execution leadership team.
* Develop retailer shopper marketing programmes across BUs aligned to BU Strategy and Shopper JTBD across relevant channels and touchpoints to maximise visibility for Unilever.
* Lead end-to-end management of impactful shopper campaigns from planning through execution and evaluation, aligned to brand and customer JTBD/priorities.
* Utilise store visits and retailer data to create best-practice insights for retailer/brand touchpoints based on campaign objectives.
* Lead and manage the retailer’s Retail Execution team and the retailer’s media group implant; communicate externally with retailers and represent shopper/campaign plans in forums (e.g., T2Ts).
* Negotiate with agency retail media partners to ensure WOW principles and accountability to standards.
* Define BU/Brand prioritisation of shopper campaigns and line up resources to deliver.
* Manage BMI/TMI shopper budgets, forecasting and executing campaigns within agreed budgets.
* Ensure artwork meets unmissable POS standards and retailer guidelines in collaboration with BU shopper leads.
* Drive industry-leading retail media capabilities with retailer agency BMG to deliver award-winning activations.
Key Requirements
* Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape and how Unilever brands become visible and impactful at key shopper touchpoints.
* Excellent communication, strong project management skills, with experience in commercial and category/marketing roles.
* Retail Media experience (in-store and digital).
* Experience building shopper-led campaigns that deliver key JTBD.
* Team leadership experience, including leading and delivering through others.
* Budget management experience.
Additional Information
Occasional UK travel to the retailer’s head office and for meetings in the London office.
