Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to individuals, particularly children, in their daily activities. This position requires a proactive approach to care, ensuring that each individual's needs are met while promoting their independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to children, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
* Assist with the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Engage with children in meaningful activities that promote learning and development.
* Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in behaviour or condition.
* Drive to various locations as required for home visits or community activities
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided
* Work inline with care plans, behaviours plans and risk assessments
* Complete detailed reports and notes throughout the day to reflect activities and support
* Administer medication in line with policy and care plans
* Offer guidance and emotional support to children within the home
* Complete all mandatory training and undertake refresher courses when required
Experience
* 2+ years previous experience in childcare or working with children is essential
* Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with children and their families - high standard of written and spoken English is essential
* Experience in developing and following care plans will be beneficial
* Portable DBS preferable
* Have at least a level 2 in Children's and Young People Care or willing to work towards
