Are you a qualified Early Years Teacher with QTS looking for a rewarding and well-supported nursery role in North London? This is an excellent opportunity to join a warm, established EYFS setting in the Barnet borough on a maternity cover basis, starting in early 2026.
This nursery is known for its strong team culture, shared workload, and exceptional resources, making it an ideal environment for an experienced Nursery Teacher or Early Years Lead who enjoys collaborative working. About the Setting
• AM & PM sessions (26 children per session, mostly part-time)
• Nursery-age children, with some 3-year-olds joining circle time
• 15–16 key children
• Two children with 1:1 support, ensuring strong adult-to-child ratios
• Supported by long-standing Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners, plus additional 1:1 staff
Planning, PPA & Support
• Weekly collaborative planning every Wednesday (3:30–4:00pm)
• Access to existing plans and schemes of work
• Weekly PPA time for preparation and assessment uploads (e.g. Tapestry / ClassDojo)
• Ongoing support with observations, reporting, and assessments
The Role
You will support high-quality EYFS provision by delivering engaging learning through play, contributing to planning, supporting assessment and progress tracking, and helping maintain smooth daily routines. Experience with SEND and early identification of additional needs is highly valued.
Why Apply?
• Supportive, team-led nursery environment
• Excellent facilities including a sensory room and soft playroom
• Opportunity to make your mark while stepping into a well-established structure
• Potential future progression routes (e.g. Phonics Lead, Maths Lead, SENCO pathway)
