NHS Glasgow Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is the largest NHS Health organisation in Scotland providing acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of 1.3 million plus providing specialist regional and national services to more than half of Scotland’s population. The geographical area covered is diverse; encompassing 6 HSCPs and with an annual revenue budget of c £4.4 billion and a capital budget of £98m.
The Acute Service (within Which The Diagnostics Directorate Sits) Provides a Complex Range Of Hospital Services Across The Population Of Greater Glasgow And Clyde We Are Now Looking To Add To The Strength Of Our Management Team Through The Appointment To The Following Key Post That Has Arisen Due To The Upcoming Retiral Of The Current Post Holder
This role will report directly to the Director of Diagnostics and has responsibility for developing and implementing services across the NHSGGC Board area to ensure there is a clear focus on the delivery of a range of high quality, safe and efficient patient centered services to meet local and national targets.
The role of General Manager DCPB/Medical Illustration is one that includes a lot of regional (and sometimes national) focus given the types of services carried out within the Directorate. As such the role would be well-suited to an individual who enjoyed strategic, as well as operational, management. The successful post-holder will be well-supported by an enthusiastic management team and a range of senior clinical staff.
This post requires strong influencing and networking qualities and you will be required to evidence experience at a senior level in operational management in a healthcare or equivalent, complex environment and will have the ability to inspire confidence and respect to lead and deliver in a politically sensitive and demanding environment. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to contribute to the development of the DCPB/Medical illustration service whilst working in collaboration with other directorates within the Health Board, as most service developments that take place within our acute hospitals will involve our DCPB/Medical illustration services in some way.
* Most importantly, the Diagnostics directorate currently has an experienced and knowledgeable group of Senior Managers and senior HR/Finance/clinical staff reporting into the Director. We are looking for a new colleague who can join with, and thrive in, this team. The right candidate will have the right balance of experience, professionalism, good humour and a willingness to work collaboratively. Diagnostics is a key factor in almost every patient’s journey and is at forefront of the national strategy for Health Care in Scotland, therefore you will be joining at an exciting time.
