Role Overview

This role is responsible for providing technical support and feedback to the Apprentices. The Data Mentor will ensure that teaching, learning, and assessment are of a high standard, with retention, achievement, and grading outcomes at or above national standards, and that learner progression is robustly monitored.


Key responsibilities

1. Support with eligibility professional discussions
2. Conduct formative and summative assessments against the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours of the Apprenticeship Standard
3. Support learners in developing and producing a high-quality portfolio of projects
4. Assist learners in preparing for the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment
5. Provide ad-hoc technical support and check-in sessions
6. Attend weekly and ad-hoc 1:1 and group mentoring sessions
7. Support with Line manager input and the final employer reference
8. Prepare the learner to enter into Gateway
9. Provide regular feedback and updates on learner progress to the Learner Success Team
10. Support the Faculty team with content development and learner support tickets
11. Offer general advice and guidance to all learners
12. Act as a support point of contact for portfolio queries
13. Safeguard children and vulnerable adults from harm and report concerns as per Cambridge Spark process
14. Develop good relationships and promote equality of opportunity, eliminating discrimination, harassment, and victimisation
15. Attend team meetings and provide updates on learner progress
16. Support ad-hoc duties or requests necessary for role or business success


Candidate Specification

* Relevant technical qualifications and industry experience
* Experience in prioritising workload, working to strict deadlines, and following procedures
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Conscientiousness with excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Experience in similar roles within formal teaching or Apprenticeships


Interview process

* One-way video interview (alternative options available for reasonable adjustments)
* Take-home technical task
* Competency-based questions (1 hour)
