The Practice Farm First Vets cover a wide range of farm species, but we particularly welcome applications from vets with strong interest in dairy work and proactive herd health. There is potential for future progression into a Director/shareholder role for the right candidate. We’re based on the Welsh border, with the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley, with easy access to Cardiff, Bristol, the Midlands and London. We are an independent farm animal practice and part of the XLVets community RCVS Practice Standards accredited (General Farm Practice), Surrey Vet School partner practice, 10 clinicians, 1 ATT and 1 Vet Tech, Good mix of dairy, beef and sheep farms, with a growing smallholder clientele Predominantly family-run farms Dairy, Beef & Smallholder Client Clubs Strong focus on proactive herd/flock health and client service Supportive clinical team with regular in-house clinical meetings Farmer meetings (Lantra Approved Provider). Regularly involved with industry projects such as Arwain DGC, Farming Connect Focus Farms etc We continue to invest in equipment and technology, including: Herd/Flock analysis tools, Laparascopic LDA, Ovacyte Machine, Freezebranding.
