We are looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead a team of Software Developers and Systems Development Engineers in Amazon Security. The role involves inventing and simplifying around complex security challenges, obsessing over the customer experience, and driving results. Relocation support is provided for successful EU applicants.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead development and operations for Amazon security services covering AWS services such as EC2, S3 and retail sites.
* Design, implement and maintain access control, identity security services, authorization, authentication, and lifecycle management systems.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build secure‑by‑default features, deploy software through automated pipelines, and support operational security software.
* Drive automation of operational fixes and use AWS services to solve design problems.
A day in the life
Work in a fast‑paced environment, designing new security features, deploying software with automated systems, and operationally supporting security releases. Balance personal and professional life with flexible scheduling.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
* Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading‑edge IT organization.
* Experience managing system or software development teams.
* Hands‑on experience in systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
* Experience with agile software development methodology.
* This role requires the applicant to be a national of an EU member state.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
* Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
* Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.).
* Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns.
