About the Role
As Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) for the HPC Emergency Diesel Generator scope, you will own design and qualification delivery across a critical contract at Hinkley Point C. You will be the key technical contact, working with the HPC Project Manager, suppliers, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure engineering quality and compliance. You will manage a team of around ten Technical Leads, coordinating day‑to‑day activities to drive progress and achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for engineering topics on the project.
* Design and qualification delivery across the contract.
* Coordinate and lead surveillance of contractor design and manufacturing activities.
* Oversee testing during manufacturing, manage non‑conformance reports, and ensure technical acceptance of procedures and techniques.
* Provide technical input to contract discussions, correspondence, and milestone approvals.
* Report progress, monitor performance, and drive delivery to schedule.
* Support replication activities for Sizewell C, ensuring robust delivery across multiple sites.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Proactive, collaborative, and technically strong.
* Degree in Science or Engineering (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc) and experience in engineering or project management.
* Proven background in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industry.
* Knowledge of HPC/FA3 projects, EDF BTSC processes, or EPR nuclear safety requirements.
* Experience overseeing contractor design deliverables, manufacturing procedures, or complex systems such as diesel generators.
