We are seeking an organised, efficient and proactive Business Support Officer to join our friendly primary school team. This is a key role supporting the smooth running of the school’s administrative, financial and operational functions, helping to ensure a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.
Location: Burnley
Contract: Full-time
Hours: 8am – 4pm
Salary: £14.25 per hour
Start Date: September 2026 or ASAP
Please note that to be suitable for this role, you must have experience working in a school office.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team
* Manage daily school office operations, including reception duties and communication with parents/carers
* Support financial processes such as invoicing, budgeting and record keeping
* Maintain accurate pupil and staff records using school systems
* Assist with HR processes including recruitment administration and staff records
* Coordinate school communications, newsletters and correspondence
* Support safeguarding, attendance and compliance procedures
* Contribute to the organisation of school events and activities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience in an administrative or business support role (school experience desirable)
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good knowledge of IT systems, including SIMS or similar programmes
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A professional, friendly and confidential approach
