Management Accountant - 3 Month Contract Starting 1st June - Oxford - £20-£25 per hour Management Accountant Oxford 3-month contract - starting 1st Jun £20-£25 per hour My client, a well-established education organisation in Oxford, are looking for a Management Account to cover a short term need. You will provide high-quality financial support within a large and fast paced academic environment. The role Support on delivering monthly management accounts and year-end processes. Manage month-end and quarter-end routines, including accruals and prepayments Analyse variances, investigate General Ledger issues, and ensure accurate financial information Approve a wide range of financial and payroll transactions Support annual reporting, in-year forecasting, and long-term financial planning Monitor financial performance, identify risks and variances, and recommend corrective actions Produce timely management reports that enhance financial awareness and decision-making Prepare costings for events, bids, and one-off activities Undertake financial modelling and small-scale projects to support strategic development Promote compliance with financial regulations and act as a key source of policy advice (procurement, expenses, VAT, payments to individuals, etc.) Maintain and review user access for finance systems and ensure correct setup of funds and payroll allocations Support the annual financial assurance self-assessment Run ledger reports, resolve anomalies, and clear suspense accounts promptly Oversee allowance records and ensure correct coding of restricted funds Prepare analyses for wider organisational reporting and assist with year-end activities Authorise requisitions, expenses, card reconciliations, travel bookings, and payment requests Review casual payroll submissions and ensure correct pay scales and coding Support income processes such as donor designations and sponsorship invoicing Manage payments to partner institutions and negotiate rates where required Essential Criteria Must have knowledge and experience of Oracle r12 Degree-level education with strong accounting knowledge (ACCA or CIMA part-qualified) Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and handling complex datasets High level of IT proficiency, including advanced spreadsheet and financial systems skills Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines independently and maintain accuracy under pressure What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
