You should hold a mentorship qualification or be a Practice Assessor and have evidence of further study. Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills are essential for this role. It will be your responsibility to: • Coordinate day to day supervision and monitoring of students, reporting to the Theatres Practice Development Lead regularly. • Coordinate assessment activity and organise practice based tutorial sessions. • Develop and enhance the quality of the learning environment to meet HCPC and NMC requirements. • Positively influence the quality of learner experience, be accessible to students. • Facilitate links between Higher Education Institutions, including regular attendance at Programme Management Team meetings. The Theatre Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital is a busy, multi-specialty unit committed to delivering a high standard of care. We are the regional referral centre for Upper GI Surgery, including emergency Oesophagogastric cases. We are leaders in Major Laparoscopic Surgery & Robotic Surgery with the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit - an internationally recognised centre of excellence created for the teaching of innovative laparoscopic surgical techniques. Other specialties include: Colorectal, Urology, Gynae Oncology, Hepatobiliary, and Upper GI, Breast Surgery, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, Major Head and Neck and ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics and CEPOD.
