Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team for the night shift at our esteemed restaurant in Gateshead, United Kingdom. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during evening hours, maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation.
* Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to our menu specifications and quality standards
* Manage a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing junior staff and ensuring efficient workflow
* Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning and implementation
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations
* Monitor and control stock levels, minimising waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated food service
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures
* Adapt to the fast-paced environment of night shift operations, ensuring consistent food quality during peak hours
* Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items as required
* Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout the shift
Qualifications
* Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
* Proven experience working night shifts in a professional kitchen environment
* Strong culinary expertise and proficiency in various cooking techniques
* In-depth knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
* Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certification
* Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a kitchen environment
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
* Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
