We're excited to be recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our Central Finance Team — a role that offers real variety, responsibility, and the chance to further develop your career within a dynamic finance function.
Working at the centre of the business, you'll help ensure our financial operations run smoothly while supporting accurate reporting and strong cashflow management. The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play an important part in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Your responsibilities will span reconciliations, payments, expenses, and invoice workflows, giving you exposure to multiple areas of finance and the opportunity to build valuable technical skills.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Performing daily and month-end bank reconciliations and completing balance sheet reviews
* Preparing journals covering payroll, pensions, direct debits, loans, and sweeping activity
* Managing prepayments and accruals while maintaining supporting schedules
* Monitoring supplier accounts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting payment creation
* Reviewing staff expenses and prepaid card activity, ensuring accurate coding and reconciliation
* Exporting daily banking data and supporting cashflow reporting
* Assisting with payment runs and approving selected ad-hoc supplier payments
* Preparing accrual data and reviewing invoice workflows to prevent duplicate postings
* Investigating system or sync errors and resolving rejected invoices
* Supporting weekly cashflow meetings, reporting, and occasional ESG data submissions
This is a collaborative role where you'll regularly liaise with the Accounts Payable team and colleagues across the business, helping to resolve queries and keep financial processes running efficiently.
About You
We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within a finance environment. You'll be comfortable managing your workload, meeting deadlines, and communicating confidently with stakeholders at different levels.
You'll bring:
* Previous experience within a finance or accounts role (AP, AR, or GL exposure is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
* Confidence working with finance systems — NetSuite or Beanworks experience is helpful but not essential
* A positive, team-focused approach with the ability to work independently
* The flexibility to adapt during busy periods and support wider team priorities
