The Role
As a Physics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that spark curiosity, foster critical thinking, and encourage students to explore the principles of physics and their application to the world around them. You will plan and deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach A-Level for suitably qualified candidates. Lessons will be designed to cater to a range of learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students can access and succeed in the subject.
You will take responsibility for tracking progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapting your teaching to meet the needs of individual learners. By integrating practical experiments, modern technology, and real-world contexts into your teaching, you will inspire students to develop both their subject knowledge and their analytical skills. Collaboration with the wider science department will be key to maintaining a dynamic and coordinated curriculum.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school’s teaching and learning policies.
Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical experiments and ICT, to enhance understanding and engagement.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to support improvement.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and the promotion of STEM subjects across the school.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
Proven experience teaching physics at secondary level, ideally including GCSE and A-Level.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
