An award-winning manufacturer of premium nutraceutical products is seeking an ambitious and commercially astute International Business Development Manager to drive global growth, build strategic partnerships, and play a key role in expanding the company’s international footprint.
Role – International Business Development Manager
As the International Business Development Manager, you will take responsibility for identifying and securing new business opportunities across global markets. You will play a strategic role in researching new territories, developing market entry strategies, and negotiating complex, high-value contracts with international partners and clients. This is a commercially focused role that blends strategic market development with hands-on sales execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Market Development
1. Research, analyse and prioritise new international markets, identifying high-potential opportunities, growth areas, and emerging trends.
2. Develop and implement tailored market entry strategies for target regions, taking into account regulatory frameworks, competition and customer behaviour.
3. Work closely with senior leadership to define and deliver long-term growth objectives.
Business Development and Sales Execution
4. Generate and convert high-quality international leads through proactive outreach, networking, referrals and market intelligence.
5. Build, manage and grow a strong sales pipeline to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
6. Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, quotations and presentations that address client requirements and showcase the company’s capabilities.
7. Drive end-to-end international sales cycles, from initial prospecting and engagement to closing deals and managing long-term relationships.
Partnership and Channel Development
8. Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships, distributor networks and joint ventures to expand the company’s international presence.
9. Negotiate and execute commercial agreements that align with business objectives and support sustainable revenue growth.
10. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure partners and customers receive the highest standards of technical, commercial and operational support.
Market Research and Intelligence
11. Conduct in-depth competitive analysis to benchmark performance against industry leaders and identify opportunities for differentiation.
12. Monitor international regulations, market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
13. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on market developments and business performance.
Commercial and Financial Management
14. Take ownership of revenue forecasting, budgeting and profitability targets for assigned regions.
15. Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure deals are structured effectively and deliver commercial value.
16. Support pricing strategy and contribute to commercial negotiations to maximise profit margins.
Networking and Brand Representation
17. Represent the business at international trade shows, exhibitions and industry events.
18. Build a network of senior decision-makers and key stakeholders across target markets to raise brand awareness and generate commercial opportunities.
Candidate Profile
19. Proven international B2B sales or business development experience, ideally within nutraceuticals, health supplements or functional foods.
20. Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing market strategies and managing international sales cycles.
21. In-depth knowledge of international regulatory frameworks, including EU and global markets.
22. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills across diverse cultural and commercial contexts.
23. Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and convert them into tangible business results.
24. Proficiency with CRM systems (such as Salesforce) and structured sales reporting.
25. Ambitious, resilient and capable of working independently to deliver results.
