Mechanical Fitter – AIRED Mechanical Workshop (British Steel Support Function)
Location: Scunthorpe
Shifts: 2-shift system & with 10% shift premium)

About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be part of a close-knit team providing essential mechanical support across a wide range of plant and equipment. This isn't just a maintenance role—it's a chance to work on diverse and interesting items that directly support multiple business areas within British Steel.
You'll be working in a fully equipped, self-contained workshop designed to enable efficient, high-quality work. From overhauls and refurbishments to reactive repairs, your day-to-day will be varied and rewarding.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out mechanical fitting, repairs, and refurbishments
* Working on a wide range of components and assemblies
* Supporting operational teams across British Steel's business units
* Ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and reliability
* Collaborating with a skilled team in a well-resourced workshop
What We're Looking For
* Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent experience, NVQ level 3 minimum
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
* Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs
