Our client is clean-manufacturing start-up in the Bristol area seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer join them in a permanent, full-time position. This role is critical to ensuring controls systems are maintained and fully operational, carrying out troubleshooting on faulty PLC systems, designing and configuring new PLC & Control systems with the aim of making sure the facility is operationally outstanding whilst optimising efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
* Creating Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) code to control industrial machinery.
* Creating project plans to support machine control refurbishment, equipment installation, automation improvement, and cost reduction projects.
* Designing, implementing, configuring and maintaining a wide range of control systems.
* Establishing and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
* Improving machine PLC controls and processes to increase equipment effectiveness.
* Working on equipment PLC data networks and improve process data capture.
* Implementing control system upgrade projects and improve control panel design.
* Identifying and implementing improvements to improve the reliability of equipment, reducing reoccurring faults and downtime.
Controls & Automation Engineer
Skills/Experience
* 3 – 5 years’ experience working with industrial automation systems
* HND or BEng in Electrical Engineering or a similarly relatable field
* Experienced in managing and delivering automation project from concept to completion
* Confident and competent in PLC programming from scratch, as well as able to carry out modifications
* A strong problem solver, able to diagnose issues with PLC’s and control systems
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
