Job Description
Hours: 30 hours per week; evening and weekend work required.
Salary:£18,000‑£20,000 (Pro Rata) plus benefits.
Contract: Permanent full‑time position.
Reports to: Plymouth & South Hams Regional Manager.
Area: Plymouth & South Hams.
Start Date: October / November 2021.
Closing date: 19th October 2021 5pm.
Argyle Community Trust, a registered charity, works closely with Plymouth Argyle Football Club and a wide range of partners to use sport as a tool for community development. This role is focused on delivering sport‑specific and fundamental coaching to primary schools and community programmes across Plymouth & South Hams.
Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive PE, school sport and curriculum‑based provision to primary schools in Plymouth & South Hams.
* Support the sports participation department and develop sustainable participation opportunities in local communities.
* Lead and deliver school programmes, ensuring contractual duties with schools are fulfilled.
* Complete reports for schools and programme management, including session evaluations.
* Provide coaching on Long Term Player Development and deliver holiday courses across Plymouth & South Hams.
* Identify and develop new partnership opportunities, sustaining current school contracts and achieving KPIs.
* Support mental health initiatives by delivering support lessons where appropriate.
* Assist VIEWS lead for Plymouth & South Hams area; attend meetings and undertake office and administrative duties as instructed.
* Promote equality and diversity in all tasks and work under health & safety, safeguarding and designates safeguarding procedures.
* Maintain coaching files, HR records, kit and equipment inventories, and collaborate with schools, venues and community groups.
Qualifications
* Good knowledge of the KS1 & KS2 national curriculum and school sport.
* Experience of delivering football and multi‑skill coaching to young people aged 3‑14 in schools, sports centres and community settings.
* Relevant sports coaching or teaching qualifications.
* Computer literacy and capability to undertake key administrative duties.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends to meet job demands.
* Subject to a DBS check; enhanced DBS checks required prior to employment.
