Level 2 Social Worker – Kinship Care (Internal)
Internal Applicants Only*
Salary: £38,220 to £39,152
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Carlisle or Workington
Contract: Permanent
About This Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Level 2 Social Worker to join our dedicated Kinship Team. In this role, you'll work closely with children, families, and carers to assess complex needs, build strong relationships, and develop tailored support plans that prioritise stability and positive outcomes for children in kinship care.
We're looking for a qualified social worker (Social Work Degree/CQSW/CSS/DipSW) registered with Social Work England. You'll bring a deep understanding of permanence planning, trauma-informed practice, and multi-agency collaboration. In return, you'll join a supportive and forward-thinking team that values professional development, flexible working, and a shared commitment to improving lives across Cumbria.
The Kinship Team strives to support children remaining in their wider family network, by assessing and supporting Kinship Carers. This includes completing regulation 24 assessments to allow for those children unable to remain living with their birth family to be placed immediately into their wider family or friends network. The team also completes full Kinship Care assessments (Form C/Form K) so assessment skills are key for this role. The role then includes offering support to Kinship carers until final decisions are made for children.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
