The Opportunity: A leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is actively seeking a highly competent Civil Engineer with a minimum of three years’ UK-based experience in Highways and Drainage design. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative civil engineering team operating across five regional offices, with a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming projects. Skills and Experience: * Minimum of three years’ UK-based post-graduate experience in civil engineering with demonstrable expertise in Highways and Drainage design for adoptable and private schemes. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Site3D and Causeway Flow (or similar systems) with the ability to deliver accurate and fully coordinated design outputs. * Knowledge of the following would be very beneficial: Design and Construction Guidance (DCG), BS EN 752, CIRIA Guides and BRE Digest or experience with adoptable works under Section 278, Section 38 and Section 104 agreements. * Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of cost planning and budget control. * Competent in technical report writing and specification preparation. * Willingness to undertake regular site inspections as part of project delivery. Role and Responsibilities: * Lead and support the production of detailed highways and drainage design packages, ensuring alignment with current regulatory frameworks, design standards and client specifications. * Effectively manage workload across multiple concurrent infrastructure projects maintaining quality efficiency and commercial viability throughout the project lifecycle. * Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders contributing to the development of integrated engineering solutions. * Maintain consistent adherence to the organisation’s ISO-certified Quality Management Systems, ensuring accurate documentation and procedural compliance.
