You will work alongside the small team of staff and volunteers ensuring everyone who visits has an amazing time. Visitors are a vital part of what we do. As the Welcome and Service Team Member it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is warm and informative, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of their day. You will staff the visitor reception at Plas yn Rhiw and be the first person visitors meet when they arrive. You’ll develop outstanding knowledge of Plas yn Rhiw and the local area as you’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. You will be operating the till, scanning membership cards, processing admissions and selling a small range of souvenirs and National Trust memberships. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work with the rest of the team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, keeping the reception area and toilets clean and free of litter at all times as well as helping to ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. In this role you will be welcoming visitors to Plas yn Rhiw. This is a fixed term role to work 28 hours per week until the 1st of November 2026. We’re ideally looking for someone to work during our core hours of 10am-5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with additional days to cover training and bank holidays. We are looking for a team member who can converse confidently in Welsh and English for this role.
