We’re looking for a passionate Outdoor Education Instructor to help shape and deliver an exceptional outdoor learning programme that supports our students’ personal, social, and academic development. What you will be doing Supporting the development and delivery of a high‑quality Outdoor Education programme across the school Planning and leading engaging group and 1:1 outdoor learning sessions, working closely with class teachers to create cross‑curricular links Attending team meetings and contributing to discussions on planning, equipment, training, and resources Building and maintaining positive relationships with external activity providers such as climbing walls and watersport centres Ensuring all equipment is safe, maintained, stored correctly, and ready for use, including bikes and specialist kit Assisting with equipment lists, hire arrangements, risk assessments, and Educational Visit documentation Using in‑house systems to track and record student progress and supporting students to achieve awards such as DofE, NICAS, and Paddle Power Taking an active role in planning and delivering daily outdoor trips and wider educational visits What you will bring GCSE qualifications or equivalent (level 2 standard of education) to include Math's and English Experience in delivering Outdoor Education lessons Holds a current Outdoor First Aid Certificate Displays an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people Suitability qualified in a minimum of 2 Adventurous Activities Full UK driving licence with the ability to transport students and equipment when required Willingness to drive a trailer when required Desirable A surfing and/or beach lifeguard qualification would be an advantage to an application NGB awards in Mountain biking, Mountain Leader, climbing, paddling, forest school. Experience of working in an SEMH or special school setting Use of own vehicle with business insurance.
