Graduate Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal

About the Practice
The Barn is a welcoming small‑animal practice with a second branch 15 minutes away. Our team of 6 vets, 7 RVNs and a fantastic admin staff provide a collaborative environment. We offer high‑quality care with digital X‑ray, ultrasound, in‑house laboratory, endoscope, otoscope, tonometer, electrocautery and K‑laser facilities.
What You’ll Do
* Participate in surgeries under the guidance of a senior vet, gaining experience gradually.
* Consult patients during weekdays, with limited evening or weekend consults until fully confident.
* Collaborate with colleagues and continue learning through a blended educational programme and CPD opportunities.
Key Support
You will have a dedicated mentor and a VetGDP advisor to guide your early career. Within the first few months, a second vet will work alongside you during surgeries.
Working Hours
40 hours per week, over 4.5 days, typical shifts 8:30 am–5:00 pm or 8:30 am–7:00 pm, with 2–3 late shifts per week. Weekend rota is 1 in 7, with Saturday morning consults 9:00 am–12:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am–12:00 pm.
