Job Title: Technical Consultant
Location: Uxbridge / Hybrid (Minimum 3 days per week in the office)

Lucid Connect are recruiting a Technical Solutions Consultant in the Managed Services Cloud space to consult with clients around technology needs, quotes, bids and advisory, bridging the gap between sales and technical teams, by understanding client needs, helping to design solutions, supporting the sales process, ultimately ensuring successful private and hybrid Cloud deployments and managed services implementations. This role represents an opportunity to transition into a Pre-Sales Consultant and subsequently into a Solution Architect role with a growing business.

We are seeking an ambitious Technical Consultant with a background in IT Support/Engineering, on a career path into Pre-Sales and Solution Architecture. This position requires a generalist with broad technology experience. The candidate should possess a sound understanding of various technologies without being limited to a specific vendor.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded technologist who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and excels at building trusted relationships with clients.
As a Technical Consultant, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and deliver tailored solutions across a broad spectrum of technologies including Microsoft platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, cloud services, and modern workplace solutions.
Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical guidance and strategic input across a range of IT domains.
* Support (or lead where possible) the design and implementation of solutions in:
* Infrastructure (on-prem & hybrid)
* Cybersecurity frameworks and tools
* Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)
* Cloud migration and management
* Modern Workplace technologies
* Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, support, sales) to ensure seamless delivery of services.
* Conduct technical assessments, audits, and workshops with clients.
* Produce high-quality documentation including solution designs, implementation plans, and client reports.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve service offerings.
Experience and Qualifications
* Proven experience in a client-facing technical role, ideally within an MSP or consulting environment.
* Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or similar are a plus.
* Experience in a pre-sales or technical consulting role within the IT managed services industry.
* Strong technical background with expertise in cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, end point management and IT infrastructure.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure, Intune, O365, Sentinel, Networking).
* Experience with ITSM tools and frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
* Familiarity with managed services contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
* Infrastructure and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Cybersecurity principles and tools (e.g., EDR, SIEM, MFA)
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
* Modern workplace solutions (Intune, Teams, SharePoint)
