Description Registrar | 8072 | secondment opportunity or temporary contract to cover maternity leave | 22.2 hours per week | £27,711 to £30,060 per annum pro rata | Grade F | Norwich We are looking to appoint a Registrar on a temporary basis to join the Registrar Service and Norfolk County Council and help to deliver a vital service across the county of Norfolk. Registrars are there to record all the significant events in life. They register births and deaths and take notices of marriages and civil partnerships. They conduct and register marriages and civil partnerships and offer other associated services. We need someone to join our team in Norwich to ensure this frontline service is delivered to customers effectively and efficiently. In registration there is a lot to learn and retain and we provide thorough training for all the duties. You will be a quick learner, who can perform well under pressure and at speed and is comfortable working on their own. Applicants need to adapt well to change and be flexible as the duties may vary from week to week. The successful candidate may need to travel to offices around the county sometimes at short notice, so will hold a current driving licence and have their own transport. The post includes a regular Saturday with enhanced pay. Applicants must possess excellent IT skills, spelling and grammar and will need to have good inter-personal skills. Experience in a public facing role within a regulatory framework is essential.
