The role:
The Security team will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all patients, staff, and the general public at Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH )Glasgow. This is achieved by providing a secure and supportive environment that balances essential security measures with the need to maintain a therapeutic atmosphere.
The security team will provide Security cover 24 hours a day/7 days a week at the RAH and will be expected to respond to Emergency and ad-hoc incidents and provide security presence as required via pagers, phone calls, or verbal report. They will work unsupervised and be able to use their own initiative to respond to competing demands and priorities and dynamically risk each incident, always using the violence reduction and de-escalation techniques in line NHSGG&C policies and legislation.
There will be regular supervision whilst on duty however the post holder will work without direct supervision additionally, they can liaise with Senior Ward Staff or Service Managers at any time.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

3. Permanent Contract
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
4. Provide a presence to ensure the risks of a security incident are kept to a minimum, including routine scheduled patrols across the site to ensure security presence is visible
5. Responding to emergency security alerts in a timely manner.
6. In instances when post holder is the first person to be alerted to any situation, utilise their knowledge and expertise to maintain patient, staff and visitor safety. Consulting more senior personnel at the earliest opportunity.
7. Provide security, protection, safety and support to staff, patients and visitors as required within the Hospital campus
8. Remove persons from Hospital site where they may be impinging on patient care or presenting a risk to the safety of others which may also include Staff members.
9. Asking staff patient and visitors to adhere to the Non-Smoking policy and asking them to move away from entrances

14. Knowledge gained on corporate and local facilities induction and completion of internal training programme (NHS trained in hold and restraint, breakaway techniques, conflict management and de-escalation) Internal training will be provided which includes legislation including, detainment, restraint, AWI, CCTV, GDPR.
15. Knowledge of NHSGGC Security policies and procedures
16. Terrorism awareness training in line with ACT
