Halesowen College is a well-established further education college located in the heart of the West Midlands, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reflective and student-centred Criminology Lecturer to join our successful A Level Humanities team. This is an opportunity to teach motivated learners within a supportive and well-resourced environment, working alongside a team of highly qualified and dedicated colleagues.

Position: Lecturer in Criminology
Location: Halesowen College, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Position Type: Full-time Lecturer

Annual salary: £27,847 to £44,863
Experience Required: Previous teaching preferred but not essential

You will be responsible for:

You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching on the WJEC Level 3 Criminology course, supporting students to achieve high outcomes through effective assessment, feedback and personalised learning. By creating a positive and inspirational learning environment, will contribute to the development of an inclusive curriculum that embeds equality, diversity, British Values, the PREVENT agenda, and the integration of English, Maths and VESPA strategies and support learners’ wellbeing and aspirations.

You should have a strong academic background in Criminology (or a related discipline), experience of teaching at Level 3, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a passion for engaging young people with contemporary issues in Criminology. Opportunities to deliver across other Humanities programmes may also be available. You will work closely with the team to contribute to the planning, delivery and marking of the course and assessments. You will have a keen interest in, and awareness of contemporary issues, and be able to engage students in the application of these ideas within the wider curriculum. Your enthusiasm should extend to extra-curricular activities such as taking part in visits and encouraging a wider enrichment experience for your students.
