Hays are proud to be working exclusively with a thriving and growing organisation based in North Wolverhampton. Due to ongoing success, they are now looking to recruit a personable and motivated Credit Controller to join their weing and supportive finance team.
Your new role
As part of a collaborative credit control function, you will take ownership of a section of the sales ledger, ensuring accounts are managed proactively and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Maintaining and managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances
2. Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies, including unallocated cash
3. Liaising with Local Authorities to address queries and obtain required documentation
4. Handling iing and outgoing calls with customers, including taking payments when needed
5. Working towards daily targets and deadlines to support overall team performance
6. Processing and allocating payments within the accounting system
7. Ensuring all internal processes and controls are followed consistently
8. Supporting wider credit control initiatives and contributing to ad-hoc projects
9. Collaborating closely with invoicing and sales ledger teams to resolve queries and maintain accuracy
10. Effectively organising your workload to meetpeting priorities and deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
11. Previous experience within credit control or a customer-focused environment
12. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively
13. Excellentmunication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional telephone manner
14. The ability to analyse information and resolve issues in a clear and logical way
15. A flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
16. Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
17. High levels of discretion and awareness of confidentiality
18. Access to transport due to the location
