We are looking for a USED CAR CONTROLLER to collaborate closely with Sales Management in the used car department of a franchised dealer operation.
Situated in Plymouth, the Used Car Controller will play a vital role in helping the business meet its sales and financial goals by efficiently growing and overseeing the success of the used car sales department. The ideal candidate should be a proficient automotive sales professional with a strong background in used cars.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Sales Manager in ensuring that optimum used stock levels are maintained to maximise sales opportunities.
2. Ensuring that used cars are purchased at the correct market value with tight control applied to preparation costs, enabling sales departments to achieve financial and volume targets.
3. Developing approved relationships with manufacturers, auction houses, and other trade contacts in pursuit of stock acquisition.
4. Completing strategic purchases in line with the defined stock profile and individual requirements of each business.
5. Providing qualified advice and support to Sales Management regarding retail and trade valuations.
6. Providing detailed analysis and reports on purchase activity.
7. Monitoring stock age and advising on price re-alignment, as well as assisting in disposal and inter-company transfers.
8. Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Brand Approved Used Vehicle Programme.
9. Overseeing and controlling forecourt display standards to meet best practice requirements.
To be considered, you should demonstrate robust experience and success in the quality used car sales environment, with the ability to interpret market trends, competitor activity, and departmental performance.
(A full driving licence is essential)
Working hours are Monday – Saturday 8:30 – 18:00, with a day off in the week. 1 in 3 Sundays 10:00 – 16:00.
