Main tasks
* Design and engineer composite components for motorsport applications
* Provide technical engineering solutions for lightweight composite problems and designs
* 3D design (surface design) of composite components across multiple vehicle projects, external (bodywork) and internal
* 3D detailed design CAD models and assembly installations plus related 2D technical manufacturing and assembly drawings using Catia V5
* Define joint design, adhesive and fixing strategies
* Generate and define Ply books / laminates with composite and FEA engineers
* Support test and validation of composite components plus support design of any required test jigs and or rigs
* Support vehicle and test car builds and problem solve technical related issues
* Work with suppliers to support tool design, layup optimization and manufacturability of composite components
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical engineering or similar background
* At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable environment working with high performance parts
* Have a strong composites background with a solid understanding of materials science and mechanical engineering fundamentals
* Good knowledge of CAD (CATIA V5 preferable) and 2D or 3D GD&T technical drawing experience
* Experience and knowledge of surface design is a plus
* Knowledge of PLM System (Windchill preferable)
* Ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
* Fluent English is compulsory
