ROLE OF THE JOB

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable part‑time Property Lawyer (0.6FTE; 22.2 hpw) to join our busy, diverse and friendly legal team. If you are dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic then we want to hear from you.

This role offers an opportunity to work at the heart of Local Government, and you will join the Corporate and Governance Team, one of three teams within Legal Services, to assist with property related transactions.

You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, have experience of providing legal advice at the appropriate client levels and managing a busy and varied caseload. You should also be flexible and innovative in your approach and be able to work as part of a highly effective and valued team.

Experience in advising clients on a full range of conveyancing and property law matters and transactions including commercial transactions, disposals and acquisitions and landlord and tenant matters is required. Matters can be diverse ranging from simple landlord and tenant transactions up to complex development agreements, development projects including transport related matters and high value commercial property transactional work and therefore variety is guaranteed.

The Property Lawyer post has a starting salary of between £50,269 - £54,495 per annum (pro rata) for those with more than two years PQE (Band 10) or £39,862- £44,075 (pro rata) for those with less than two years PQE (band 8). Individuals appointed to band 8 will transition to band 10 at two years PQE.

The working arrangements are flexible, with office‑based working in County Hall, Morpeth and the opportunity to work on a hybrid office / home basis.
