Head of HR
London – Hybrid role
Salary: £70,000-£75,000
We are seeking an experienced Head of HR to join a large, complex organisation operating at national scale. This is a senior People leadership role for someone who is proactive, hands-on, and thrives in an environment with high autonomy and trust.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the People agenda across the business, partnering closely with senior operational leaders and driving impactful, pragmatic HR initiatives.
The Role
This is a broad, regional Head of HR role with responsibility for partnering senior leaders and leading a well established People function. You will balance strategic thinking with day to day operational delivery, bringing practical solutions rather than theory.
Key responsibilities:
Acting as a trusted People partner to Managing Directors, Area Directors, and Area Managers
Leading and developing a multi disciplinary People team
Driving initiatives across EDI, employee engagement, performance management, and learning & development
Managing complex employee relations matters, including TUPE and redundancy processes
Supporting a culture of growth, honesty, and flexibility
Shaping and delivering new People projects in an environment with significant scope for change and improvement
Experience:
A self starter with a proactive, driven mindset
Confident, resilient, and comfortable operating with senior stakeholders
A pragmatic HR leader who values “real-world” experience over theory
Comfortable working with a non-micromanaging, high-performing CPO
A people-focused leader who enjoys seeing others grow and develop
Able to balance honesty with flexibility and find common ground
CIPD qualified (level flexible)
Strong working knowledge of TUPE and redundancy processes
