About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a well-established, internationally recognised engineering and manufacturing business that designs and delivers highly specialised equipment to customers worldwide.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Purchasing Executive to take ownership of procurement, planning, and supplier management across their UK operation.
This is a high-impact, multi-functional role combining strategic purchasing, MRP planning, and operational leadership-ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on execution and continuous improvement.
The Role
This position sits at the heart of the business, ensuring materials and components are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time to support production.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to maintain a robust, responsive supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
Running the MRP and master planning function to support production schedules
Converting planned orders into purchase orders and internal works orders
Sourcing, negotiating, and liaising with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost, and reliability
Building and maintaining a strong, agile supply chain network
Managing supplier communications, confirmations, and delivery timelines
Monitoring stock levels and inventory performance, minimising shortages and excess
Maintaining and optimising ERP system data (pricing, lead times, supplier info, etc.)
Acting as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams, resolving supply issues proactively
Driving continuous improvement across purchasing and planning processesWhat We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with candidates who bring a strong combination of purchasing expertise, organisation, and commercial awareness.
You'll likely have:
Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong MRP/ERP system experience (AX Dynamics beneficial but not essential)
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
A proactive, solution-focused mindsetDesirable:
CIPS or relevant supply chain qualification
