Team Manager Adoption Support - Adoption West role at Bath & North East Somerset Council
Location: Flexible. An office base in one of the offices within the Adoption West region (Bristol, Gloucester or Trowbridge) and working from home. Travel across the region for face to face meetings/training may be required.
This is a part-time Team Manager role within the Adoption Support Service. Adoption West is a Regional Adoption Agency and Registered Voluntary Adoption Agency commissioned by Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Councils.
Overview
Adoption West provides a range of adoption services including recruitment and assessment and early support of prospective adopters, family finding for children requiring permanency via adoption, post adoption support, and services to birth family and adopted adults. This role leads a regional team responsible for supporting families post adoption order, developing the regional support offer, supervising deputy team managers and social workers, and monitoring and reporting on service delivery and performance against national standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead a regional team responsible for supporting families post adoption order.
* Develop and expand the regional adoption support offer.
* Supervise deputy team managers and social workers.
* Monitor service delivery and practice; report on and measure performance against national standards.
* Work with the Service Manager and Deputy Team Managers to ensure effective operations across Adoption West.
You Will Need
* A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
* At least two years’ experience relevant to adoption within the past five years.
* At least one year’s experience supervising and managing professional staff.
* In-depth knowledge and experience of childcare law and practice.
* Ability to analyse complex information to make recommendations and informed decisions.
* Competent IT skills.
* Ability to drive and have access to a vehicle to travel around the region when required.

Additional Information
* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require an Enhanced DBS check before appointment can be confirmed.
