Your role
We are seeking a Customs Assistant based at our Logistics Facility near Nottingham to support Customs activities in the EMEA region, focusing on the UK. The role involves ensuring compliance with import-export regulations, preparing documentation for Customs Authorities and Logistics Providers. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining records of Customs documents and supporting the application of standards across UK companies within the EssilorLuxottica Group.
Main responsibilities:
* Coordinate with Customs Authorities and Logistics Providers
* Maintain relations with UK Customs Authorities during audits or specific requests
* Provide Customs Clearance information to Customs Brokers
* Assist the Logistics Team to avoid delays in Customs Clearance
* Support audits and compliance checks from Authorities or Internal Departments
* Perform controls and review documents
* Maintain accurate records of Customs Clearances and retrieve Customs documentation
* Monitor changes in Customs Regulations
* Coordinate with other EL Group Entities to ensure standards compliance
* Reporting
Main requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customs
* Good knowledge of import-export processes
* Strong interpersonal skills, especially with Authorities
* Familiarity with Harmonized Codes
* Understanding of Trade-Customs compliance requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
* Preferential SAP ERP knowledge
* Basic understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain processes
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy in data and documentation management
* Proactive attitude and team-oriented mindset
