NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Leeds (LS9) on a full-time, permanent basis .
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting children with behavioural needs, SEN, and SEMH to succeed both academically and personally.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with Key Stage 2 pupils who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and structured environment that enables pupils to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for KS2 pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
* Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCo, and pastoral teams
* Support pupils in developing social skills and emotional resilience
* Monitor behaviour, track progress, and contribute to reports and reviews
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
About You
* Recent experience working with KS2 pupils in a professional setting
* Proven experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEN, and/or SEMH needs
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Passionate about making a difference in children's lives
* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
