Environmental Health Officer
Wirral Council’s Environmental Health Service carries out a wide range of public protection duties including food safety, health and safety, pollution control, animal health and shellfish bed classification. This role provides an opportunity to assist in the delivery of all statutory functions of the service.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide a high‑quality service to the public, the business community and external organisations, working under pressure and meeting challenging deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Enthusiastic and motivated, with the capacity to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
* Sound knowledge of Environmental Health legislation.
* Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or equivalent is required; applicants currently working towards becoming a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health will also be considered.
* Full driving licence required.
* Eligible to work in the UK before commencing employment, or meet Home Office visa sponsorship criteria. Applicants requiring sponsorship should evaluate Home Office eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa before applying. Note that this role does not meet the requirements of a Skilled Worker visa as set out by UK Visa and Immigration.
