Murrayfield Primary school currently has a role of 180 pupils and in addition 34 pupils are enrolled at our ELC. The school has 9 classes and a small group setting.
\n
Murrayfield Primary School currently operates within a collaborative leadership model alongside Blackburn Primary School. The strategic and operational roles of the Head Teacher and Depute Headteacher span across both schools, with the Principal Teachers being allocated to and based within specific schools. The collaborative leadership model is now entering its third year. This approach has facilitated strong collaborative approaches between the pupils and adults across both settings. Within the year ahead, we aim to strengthen joint parental engagement approaches

The Principal Teacher position will be specifically based at Murrayfield Primary School, however the successful candidate will have improvement priorities and leadership responsibility across both schools.

There is an active Parent Council and the school has good links with our local community. The school values collaboration and has strong collegiate links with cluster schools. Murrayfield Primary School continues to offer pupils a wide range of learning experiences in an inclusive, nurturing environment where creativity, independence and self-directed learning is promoted and encouraged. The school manages improvement throughout the session by implementing the main priorities detailed in the School Improvement Plan.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.
