About the Role
Commercially aware and constantly looking for new business opportunities, shop managers motivate their teams and create a safe and energised work environment. They have high standards, a strong drive to achieve results and are accountable for their business. The role is empowered, varied, busy, and gives the opportunity to work with some amazing people. Shop managers are pivotal for the success of our business and are often the only paid member of staff in a volunteer‑driven operating model, comfortable delegating to volunteers and enjoying working with others.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a retail shop team, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for customers and volunteers.
• Develop and monitor retail processes, merchandising, and online shop operations to meet business targets.
• Interpret basic financial reports and maintain commercial awareness to drive sales and profitability.
• Support and develop staff, fostering an inclusive culture that aligns with Oxfam’s values.

Working Schedule
The role involves working two days a week, including some Saturdays and Sundays, with bank holidays arranged in coordination with staff and the volunteer team. It also includes responsibilities for the online shop department, utilising the online platform to sell donated items.
