The Opportunity
We are seeking motivated individuals for our Prudential & Financial Risk team. Whether you are a recent graduate eager to launch your career, a professional looking to transition into the field, or an experienced auditor with a proven track record, you will play a vital role in strengthening the controls that protect our members. Reporting to the Head of Audit for Prudential & Financial Risk, you will contribute to a portfolio of risk-focused audit reviews using Agile principles. Whether bringing fresh perspectives or seasoned expertise we are looking for motivated individuals to join us in our commitment to ensuring the firm’s safety and soundness.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Audit Delivery: Contribute to high-quality, timely audit reviews in line with GIA methodology and report writing standards.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across the Group to influence outcomes and agree on actions to address risks.
7. Continuous Monitoring: Monitor risk data and key risk indicators (KRIs) to support GIA’s ongoing oversight.
8. Professional Growth: Attend governance committees and take ownership of personal development aligned with the Society’s frameworks.
What do we need from you?
We are looking for individuals who combine technical curiosity with excellent interpersonal skills, combined with:
9. Qualifications: You should be studying towards, part-qualified, or interested in pursuing a professional qualification (e.g., Accountancy). Or already have an understanding of the Prudential and Financial risk environment.
10. Experience: Previous experience in Internal Audit, Financial Services, Banking, or Professional Services.
11. Skills: Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.Ability to challenge constructively and negotiate for the right outcomes.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
Working Practices:
12. Hybrid Working: We expect team members in the office three days a week for purposeful collaboration.
13. Travel: Flexibility to travel across the Group (UK and potentially internationally) is required, typically this is no more than 20- 25% of the working year.
