What You’ll Do
* Lead the management and control of project costs from initial budgeting through to final accounts
* Analyse tender documents, prepare detailed cost estimates, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
* Use innovative digital tools to optimise processes and improve project outcomes
* Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality and compliance with contract requirements
* Develop procurement strategies and conduct constructability reviews to streamline delivery
* Manage variations, claims, and compensation events while controlling commercial risk
* Deliver clear, insightful commercial reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders
* Mentor and develop junior QS staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team culture
* Play an active role in recruitment, retention, and professional development within the commercial function
What You Bring
* Chartered status with RICS, ICES, CIOB, or equivalent professional recognition
* Proven track record in managing commercial aspects of large‑scale civil engineering projects
* Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines
* Strong analytical mindset with a passion for using data to drive smart commercial decisions
* Experience with earned value management, risk/opportunity management, and dispute resolution
