Job Description:

We are looking for a

n outstanding early career researcher in Theoretical Astroparticle Physics to work with Samuel Witte in the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford. An ideal candidate would have experience working on black hole superradiance, interactions between axions and plasma astrophysics, and environmental impacts of black hole physics. The candidate should have a proven track record demonstrating high quality research on topics which include, or are closely related to, the understanding and behaviour of new fundamental physics around extreme compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes. Strong computational experience and proficiency in simulations is highly preferred.The post-holder may be expected to help in the supervision of DPhil and master-level students, as well as undergraduate interns. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach. This may include lecturing, small group teaching, and tutoring of undergraduates and graduate students. Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to completion of one, in physics or a related field. A strong experience in the discipline of Theoretical Astroparticle Physics would be essential as well as strong communications and written skills. The post is full time and fixed term for 12 months.
