Role: Quality Inspector Location: Newport Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Friday 7am-1pm Hourly Rate/Salary: £13.50ph / £26,676paWright Staff Recruitment are currently representing a globally known manufacturing company who are looking to hire a Quality Inspector to be based at the Newport site on a permanent basis.Position Overview To maintain and assist in developing and improving the quality control processes at the company to ensure that products supplied to customers is of the highest of standard. The Quality Inspector should assist in promoting the use of best-practise quality system tools and techniques, ensuring they are applied in a way that benefits the company performance in areas of Quality, Cost and Delivery.Essential Job Functions/ ResponsibilitiesThe job primarily involves sampling, measuring and verifying that manufactured products meet pre-determined quality standards.Attend the daily production meeting to discuss any quality issues from the previous day.Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.Maintenance of relevant Quality and product specifications as needs arise.Perform in a quality function to maximize and sustain continual improvement in standards by ensuringThe most effective use of resources is made in the support of production processes.Rapid communication of issues is made to the relevant management level.That pertinent quality data is kept in a meaningful way and made easily accessible.That all relevant quality processes are under continuous scrutiny for efficiency and quality improvements.That information and documentation is available as required to meet customer delivery requirements.Complete a monthly quality audit in line with the internal auditing schedule.Actively participate in all continuous improvement activities / initiatives & Kaisen events.Be flexible in approach to work to support the production needs, be able to work shifts & cover over time when required.Qualifications - MinimumHeld a Quality/Supervisory position with practical experience (minimum 2 years) in a manufacturing environment packaging / electronic / automotive.Good understanding of Excel & WordGood standard of written, spoken English & Math'sPractical approach to modern problem solving tools & techniques Qualification - DesirableRelevant industry recognized Quality Assurance qualification/I.L.MBasic Photoshop/PowerPoint skillsExperience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement, 5s, & Kaizen.
