Job Description
Location: Headingley Hall Care Home, 5 Shire Oak Road
Hours: 28 to 32 per week
Overall Objectives
* Assist in serving food and beverages to customers at Westward Care in a professional and friendly manner to an agreed standard.
* Maintain the standards of presentation of the dining and bar facilities to an appropriate restaurant quality.
* Ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of the dining and bar facilities meet the required high standards.
About The Role
MAIN DUTIES:
* Assist in serving food and beverages to customers in the dining facilities, room service, and at the bar in a professional and friendly manner.
* Contribute to a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere in the dining and bar facilities that encourages customers to enjoy their meals and socialise if they choose to do so.
* Lead by example to ensure that all customers and employees are treated with equality, dignity, and respect, and that discrimination and harassment are challenged.
* Strive for 'right first time and on time' service for food and beverages.
Quality Management
* Demonstrate pride in the job and organisation.
* Maintain a professional appearance according to uniform standards.
* Assist in keeping the dining and bar facilities clean and presentable.
* Ensure tables and trays are presented to high standards before service.
* Clear tables and trays promptly after service, leaving the facilities in excellent condition.
* Follow health and safety guidelines to protect self and customers.
* Complete all required paperwork accurately within deadlines.

* Work effectively with team members to serve food and drinks and ensure smooth operation.
* Share skills and information to enhance customer experience.
* Participate in training and development activities.
Communication
* Use various communication methods to meet customer needs and build positive relationships.
* Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.

Customer Service
* Seek ways to improve customer service and communicate ideas to management.
* Create a positive first impression for visitors.
* Anticipate and meet customer needs, exceeding expectations where possible.
* Ensure all customers and visitors feel welcome and are treated professionally.
* Respect internal customers equally with external customers.
Profitability and Growth
* Manage resources effectively to minimize waste and uphold service standards.
* Assist with stock management, including rotation and availability.
* Help manage portion sizes to meet individual requirements.
* Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
* Promote Westward Care services and facilities proactively.
Additional Information
* Work coverage for sickness and holidays may be required.
* Unsocial hours, weekends, and bank holidays work may be necessary.
* Flexibility is essential due to the 24/7 operation.
