Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an Audio Typist / Admin Support within the Rheumatology Department at York Hospital. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work effectively using their own initiative, as well as being part of a team. They must be a proficient Audio Typist with the ability to transcribe complex digital dictation and provide daily administration service support within Rheumatology.
Responsibilities
* Audio typing of outpatient clinic, discharge and general administrative letters.
* Communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy, seeking to overcome barriers to effective communication, using multiple communication methods such as email, telephone, reception duties, etc.
* Filing, photocopying and other administrative tasks as necessary.
* Provide typing and administrative support to the medical secretaries within the Directorate.
* Deal with routine internal telephone queries.
* Respond in a professional and sensitive manner when dealing with confidential issues.
* Administrative support including appointment booking and general administrative tasks.
* Undertake effective prioritisation of own workload and the coordination of activities / duties related to the role.
Qualifications
* GCSE English Language, Grade C or above, or equivalent.
* Excellent typing skills or relevant qualifications.
* Previous clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or customer based setting.
* Effective administrative and computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
