Job Summary
'I didn't come from healthcare I came with life experience'
If you've supported a friend, family member, or someone close to you through mental health challenges, your experience matters here.
If you live locally and want a job where you can make a real difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
Sometimes the best people for this role are the ones who care the most.
We're looking for Clinical Support Workers to join our forensic mental health inpatient ward areas including Wakefield and Doncaster. These are full-time roles (37.5 hours per week), working with adults who need support during a difficult time in their lives.
This job is about being present, listening, and helping people feel safe, respected, and supported in their recovery. You'll work alongside nurses, doctors, occupational therapists and social workers, and you'll never be expected to do this alone.
You don't need to have previous NHS experience. What we really value is:
* Kindness and patience
* The ability to listen and notice changes in people
* A willingness to learn and be part of a team
We will support you with a local induction and full mandatory training when you start.
Important To Know
* This advert is for forensic mental health services only
* Vacancies are across all inpatient ward areas
* Assessment Centre: 28 February 2026 (a future date in March will be scheduled should it be required)
Main duties of the job
PLEASE READ: Previous applicants: Please note that if you have applied for this role and been unsuccessful within the last six months, we ask that you do not reapply at this time. Any application received from candidates who have been unsuccessful within the previous six months will be screened as unsuccessful.
Qualifications
Candidates must be able to evidence a relevant accredited Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent). We are aware of an increase in online short-course certifications being presented as equivalent to NVQ Level 2; however, these courses often lack the required depth, breadth, and clinical competency standards of a formally accredited qualification and will not be accepted.
Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship
Visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route can only be considered where the pro-rated salary meets the minimum threshold of £25,000, as required by UK Visas and Immigration. Therefore for Band 2 Roles, the salary does not meet the minimum threshold therefore, sponsorship cannot be offered. We do accept applicants who can provide evidence of Right to Work under a different route.
