Finance Assistant Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum Location: Silloth Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5pm Overview NXT Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Finance Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team within a company operating across multiple sectors, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business while contributing to wider commercial objectives. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring the efficient operation of the finance function. Key Responsibilities Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide ad hoc financial analysis as required Conduct credit checks for new and existing customers Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and efficiently Manage outstanding debtor accounts and provide regular reporting on aged debt Support cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and forecasting activities Prepare reports, summaries, and spreadsheets for the Finance Manager and Directors Support audits and assist in ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures Respond to finance-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Assist with general finance administration and continuous improvement initiatives within the department Requirements Previous experience within a finance or accounts role\ Experience preparing or assisting with management accounts Strong understanding of finance processes and financial administration Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and financial software packages Ability to work independently and as part of a team A proactive and professional approach to work Desirable Skills Experience supporting budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management AAT qualification or equivalent finance qualification Experience working within a commercial or multi-site business environment Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Please contact the team at 01228 812585 or info@nxtrecruitment.co.uk.
